Which wedding dress is most suitable for your figure?
Below you will find some pleasant tips that can help you in your search and guide you step by step through the large Wedding Dress Forest. The type of wedding dress that is suitable for a bride with an hourglass figure can be completely different from the perfect dress for a woman with a straight figure or a luscious pear shape.
Hourglass figure
Are you blessed with a fuller bust, a narrow waist and are your hips about the width of your shoulders in proportion? Then you have an hourglass figure.
Draw particular attention to your waist and create a playful look with flowing fabrics such as chiffon or organza . A cleavage is fine and both a dropped waist or fishtail model will look great on you. You can also easily wear a strapless wedding dress with a fuller bosom, and your stylist can advise you on any do’s & don’t’s regarding a possible removable halter or collar on your wedding dress.
And yes.., even in a full measure with the hourglass proportions you are a sparkling bride.
Don’t let anyone tell you that a full size hourglass is not allowed in a nice tight-fitting wedding dress.., because that is sheer nonsense! Look forward to all the beauty that you can come and try on soon.
Straight Figure Wedding Dress
You have a straight figure when your shoulders, waist and hips are roughly in the same line. Most brides with a straight figure have a less voluminous bosom. An extended top or A-line would be a wonderful choice for you. Maybe you have a great pair of legs.., show me! Avoid strapless wedding dresses at first. Of course it is fine, and everything is allowed. But you run the risk of creating a less spectacular effect with a smaller bosom. Your subtle curves fall away, and you seem more like a plank than a radiant bride. A dumbbell, an off-shoulder neckline and beautiful A-symmetrical shapes are more suitable for you. Try some different types in our bridal shop.., you will be amazed by the result!
Pear Figure Wedding Dress
Do you have narrow shoulders, wide hips and sturdy thighs? Congratulations.., you are a pear! You are probably also blessed with a flat stomach and a slim waist. Your breasts are a bit smaller in proportion.., but let’s face it.., we can’t have everything, can we?!
Make sure you have a nice accent in the top of your dress and maybe a nice off shoulder neckline and choose a slightly dropped waist. A wide full skirt like a princess dress creates a spectacular transition and ensures that no one sees your full buttocks and hips but a beautiful bride in a spectacular wedding dress! Preferably avoid the tight-fitting fishtail or mermaid models.., they fit tightly around your figure.., and in your case do little kind for your figure.
Inverted triangle
I always find this comparison so funny.., but of course it’s just a description… An athletic figure with broader shoulders, a medium to full bust, a relatively narrow waist and well-shaped legs of course do justice to the description… Do you choose to emphasize your strengths? Then a narrow hip line and a fishtail or dropped waist is a perfect solution for you. If you put the emphasis on your undercarriage, your shoulders look narrower and you draw all approving glances to your beautiful hips and envious legs.
Whether you choose supple, soft fabrics or a sporty taffetta.., both times you are good because you can break a pot with your figure.
A belly, now what?
Most women in our bridal shops do have a belly (or think they do). If you actually have problems in that area, we recommend a dress with nice flat pleats in the stomach and belly area, whether or not continuous on the hip. And of course an A-line or princess line is also super suitable for hiding everything. Experience shows that with the right dress, fabric & cut you can wear many more models than you thought!
Are you expecting? Let your stylist know how far along you are when you get married. You can wear many more models than you thought until well into your pregnancy. If necessary, we have a fitting belly available to mimic your fatter belly at the time.., it feels a bit wacky, but does exactly what it’s supposed to do! 🙂
I want a low back
I would say: do that very much if you are the lucky one who meets the absolute MustHaves to be able to wear these dresses. Be aware that wearing a torsolette or bra under this dress is completely impossible.., so you can wear a small B cup at most and must pass the pencil test with flying colors. 🙂 A sticky bra is sometimes an option.., but experience shows that this is not always comfortable.., but hey.., the eye also wants something. We do endure hotter fires, don’t we..?
Furthermore, this model is only beautiful if you are blessed with a nice tight back without sunbed stripes or ingrained white stripes from sunbathing. It may also be a bit less elegant if you show cozy folds and rolls of fat on your back.., anyway, you can imagine it. And would you still like to wear a sexy back with a fuller size or a less beautiful back? Then choose a model with a semi-transparent and possibly processed intermediate piece. You still can’t wear a torsolette or bra.., but blemishes are less visible and distract nicely from any blemishes.
Tall bride
Almost all models in our own “Very Fairy Fairytales” collection can be made for you in various lengths. You can just try on all the models in the store, and some wedding dresses are already perfect for you in terms of length.
Other dresses may almost be.., and we make them perfectly in the length needed to fit you perfectly. Of course, it depends on your figure type what kind of model looks best on you…, come and try on extensively and get advice. Look forward to a super fun fitting session.
Little bride
If you are not too tall yourself, then it is advisable to choose a dress that is not too wide in the skirt. After all, it would be a bit crazy if the cross-section of your skirt is as wide as you are tall.., then it looks like you can tumble over at any moment. And yet.., everything is also allowed & you are the boss! If you choose a subtle model with beautiful lines and a less flared skirt.., you create some length and optically you look taller. How convenient is that!? A short dress that falls above your knee is also a super nice option.., this way your legs look just a little longer and you have a spicy style! Do!
