As the law also states: Buy is Buy. Cancellation is only possible in the following two cases:
- If the ‘Door-to-Door Sales Act’ is in force. When you buy something at the door, via the internet or via television, you have an eight-day cooling-off period. During these eight days, you can cancel your purchase.
- If the ‘Consumer Protection Act in Distance Contracts’ is in force. If no personal contact was involved in the realization of your purchase – for example in the case of a purchase via the internet (at a Dutch store) – you still have seven days to change your mind.
- A bridal fashion store may refuse your cancellation and may keep you on the sale. He or she may require you to take delivery of the purchased item. Only in the event of the death of one of the future spouses may the bridal shop refuse the cancellation.
Cancellation of orders in other cases is only possible with the cooperation of the retailer. He or she can then charge you costs.
